Cala Formentor

Cala Formentor is a beautiful beach that sits below the internationally renowned Hotel Formentor, whose guests have included famous artists and politicians as well as important events organised there. Winston Churchill, John Wayne, Octavio Paz and others have stayed here.

Cala Formentor is 14 kilometers from Port de Pollença. It is a very long and narrow beach that has very fine white sand. Running along the back of the beach is a very thick pine and Holm Oak wood and some of the trees provide shade on a hot summers day.

This beach is easy to get to by car, however in the height of the summer you may find parking a bit of an issue due to the number of tourist and locals who will be soaking up the sun.

The more adventurous may like to drive up to the lighthouse at Cap Formentor - BE WARNED - it is a windy narrow road to get there, but as this clip below shows, the views are well worth it!
