Casal Solleric was one of the last stately homes to be built in Palma in the mid eighteenth century. This impressive building of Baroque architecture is situated in the heart of Palma on the main throughfare of the Passeig Borne, its style is inspired by Baroque. Historically the building has always been used as a meeting place for artists and writers, ever since the time of the original owners - the Morell family.
Casal Solleric has been operating in its current guise since 1985 when it was opened by the City Council as the Exhibition Centre of Contemporary Art. It houses a number of temporary exhibitions which are exhibited in a 3 different spaces - the ground floor, mezzanine floor and Espai Quatre.
There is also an impressive library specialising in contemporary art and photography, and the cafeteria is a pleasant space to enjoy a coffee either pre or post exhibition gazing.
